I had been following this new item since the time it was released in the media a few days ago. Thanks to USFDA for bringing this information to the public. But I am surprised by the comments posted in the media about this issue. Such things do happen everywhere but raising too much hue and cry about India does not send any fruitful signals. And on top of all this, most of these comments have come from Indians themselves. Lets put our energy towards a BETTER INDIA than just doing these criticism. My Indian-Canadian roots make me to speak like this. 64000 bottles were found overdosed and were recalled,that is it. Even in 2012, 480,000 bottles of Lipitor were recalled when it was found to be contaminated with glass particles. Important issue should be to prevent these bottles going to common Indian population.

Drug maker Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd has recalled more than 64,000 bottles of the generic versions of its cholesterol-lowering drug in the United States due to reports of a dose mix-up, US regulators said.
Ranbaxy recalled tablets of atorvastatin calcium, the generic name for Lipitor’s active ingredient, after a pharmacist found a 20-milligram tablet in a sealed bottle marked for 10-milligram tablets, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on its website.
